01

A short history

EE emerged from the combination of Orange and T-Mobile and launched UK 4G service in October 2012. It is now a BT Group brand. Legacy Orange or T-Mobile documents should not automatically be applied to a current EE line.

02

What its features mean

The exact package may determine speed treatment, additional services and travel benefits. Check voice over 4G and Wi-Fi calling support for the handset; a broad network claim cannot establish device compatibility.

03

SIM-only arrangements

Inspect the SIM allowance, term and any speed tier independently of a phone promotion. Existing users should ask whether moving to another SIM category changes their commitment or included features.

04

Phones and upgrades

A phone repayment or flexible device arrangement can have conditions of its own. Keep the return instructions, balance information and any early upgrade criteria together before changing the handset.

05

The monthly account

A monthly EE account may include optional subscriptions as well as airtime. Match the account’s reset dates to its statement. Find the scheduled annual change in the agreed summary and keep evidence of any subsequent amendment.

06

PAYG, credit and recurring packs

EE maintains PAYG guidance about plans, credit, add-ons and top-ups. UK phone service, data-only products and travel eSIMs can use different terms. Older advice about a previous EE PAYG category may not describe the one now held.

07

Digital SIM and replacement

EE supplies eSIM instructions for supported accounts and devices. A monthly handset process is not proof that every prepaid or travel category uses that process. Read the product-specific eligibility before starting.

08

Bills, payments and extra use

For EE, place the official statement next to the contract summary. Identify the dates covered, recurring airtime, any device payment and additional services. An allowance reset may not match the calendar month. If an unfamiliar item appears, ask the provider for its category and supporting usage record. A spending cap can have exclusions, so confirm what it controls before relying on it.

09

PAC and keeping the number

When moving a number away from EE, request a PAC through its official process or text PAC to 65075 from a single active line. Check the information returned about the existing commitment. Give a valid code to the receiving provider and let it arrange the handover. Keep access to both SIMs until completion. A replacement SIM, an internal plan change and a move between companies are not interchangeable instructions.

10

Coverage, calling and faults

Use EE coverage and service-status information for the locations that matter. EE / BT Group is background to the connection, not a guarantee at a particular desk or room. Check the handset’s supported calling functions and software. Record whether calls, texts or data fail and when. Reversible checks and a short log help official technical support; this independent website cannot investigate or repair infrastructure.

11

Travel and international use

Check EE’s destination and tariff guidance while still in the UK. Confirm account permissions, any pass and its fair-use scope. Do not assume a household or domestic inclusion extends unchanged overseas.

12

Home internet and connected devices

For EE home internet, use its address-based broadband check. A mobile hotspot, a cellular router and a fixed line can all supply internet access but have different equipment and performance conditions.

13

Later changes and leaving

Keep EE notices about renewal, changed inclusions and scheduled adjustments. Find the date each commitment ends and ask what continues afterwards. Before stopping service, obtain an account-specific explanation of any outstanding device balance and early termination obligations. Use the provider’s cancellation route or the receiving provider’s switching process rather than treating stopped payments as cancellation.

14

Account tools and a useful question

The relevant starting point is EE app. Access it through a genuine provider link and retain copies of important confirmations. Ask: which agreement controls this change, when does it take effect and what remains active afterwards? Never share passwords, one-time security messages, eSIM codes or banking credentials with us. General explanation can be given without taking control of the account.
