01A short history
BT Mobile uses EE connectivity within BT Group. BT announced renewed mobile services for broadband customers in 2026. Older closure summaries may therefore miss the routes described in today’s official material.
02What its features mean
Household eligibility and existing family arrangements deserve particular attention. New service categories should not be treated as identical to every legacy Family SIM account.
03SIM-only arrangements
Check which mobile route is available to the BT household and what SIM formats it supports. A relationship between BT and EE does not make every retail instruction interchangeable.
04Phones and upgrades
If a new device or an EE-branded route is involved, confirm the actual contracting party. Any existing device balance needs a separate answer before changing airtime.
05The monthly account
BT’s current information describes access for eligible BT Broadband or Mobile customers. Read the account-specific term, allowance and scheduled changes rather than assuming the same entitlement for every household.
06PAYG, credit and recurring packs
Do not assume BT has a traditional prepaid credit product for the account. Confirm the currently available category and how payments recur using BT’s own documents.
07Digital SIM and replacement
Use BT’s instructions for the exact service and device, especially where current digital-SIM routes differ from an older physical-SIM arrangement. EE compatibility alone is not proof of BT account eligibility.
08Bills, payments and extra use
For BT Mobile, place the official statement next to the contract summary. Identify the dates covered, recurring airtime, any device payment and additional services. An allowance reset may not match the calendar month. If an unfamiliar item appears, ask the provider for its category and supporting usage record. A spending cap can have exclusions, so confirm what it controls before relying on it.
09PAC and keeping the number
When moving a number away from BT Mobile, request a PAC through its official process or text PAC to 65075 from a single active line. Check the information returned about the existing commitment. Give a valid code to the receiving provider and let it arrange the handover. Keep access to both SIMs until completion. A replacement SIM, an internal plan change and a move between companies are not interchangeable instructions.
10Coverage, calling and faults
Use BT Mobile coverage and service-status information for the locations that matter. EE / BT Group is background to the connection, not a guarantee at a particular desk or room. Check the handset’s supported calling functions and software. Record whether calls, texts or data fail and when. Reversible checks and a short log help official technical support; this independent website cannot investigate or repair infrastructure.
11Travel and international use
The travel rules attached to the BT agreement govern the line. Shared ownership with EE does not transfer every EE roaming inclusion.
12Home internet and connected devices
BT fixed broadband and mobile can share eligibility while retaining separate commitments. Check the home address, router obligations and what happens to linked features if one service ends.
13Later changes and leaving
Keep BT Mobile notices about renewal, changed inclusions and scheduled adjustments. Find the date each commitment ends and ask what continues afterwards. Before stopping service, obtain an account-specific explanation of any outstanding device balance and early termination obligations. Use the provider’s cancellation route or the receiving provider’s switching process rather than treating stopped payments as cancellation.
14Account tools and a useful question
The relevant starting point is BT mobile account. Access it through a genuine provider link and retain copies of important confirmations. Ask: which agreement controls this change, when does it take effect and what remains active afterwards? Never share passwords, one-time security messages, eSIM codes or banking credentials with us. General explanation can be given without taking control of the account.
